The tone used to speak the four, short words was a casual one, and it betrayed the destruction and chaos that had ravaged both the land and the lives of countless shinobi.

Desolate in its entirety, with the exception of the scattered forces of shinobi and the countless corpses, the landscape was the last place he wanted to be.
He could hear the faint screams of those near his feet, and he looked up in response, trying to spot what had terrified them so badly.
The occasional clang of kunai against kunai rang out, but this was something he had heard countless times over the years. It was commonplace, and no longer bothered him—but the same could not be said for the entire war.

He open the closet door, starting to move boxes out of the way—though what he had hidden wasn’t currently visible, he knew exactly where it was.
